|

Fri 20th + Sat 21st November 2026

To be held online

9:00am - 1:30pm each day (ADHD-friendly hours!)

We are seeing a huge uptick in adults who are being diagnosed with Autism and ADHD (or who aren’t diagnosed, but pretty sure!). If you don’t think you’re treating neurodivergent clients in practice - think again. You’re already seeing them!

As practitioners, we are always looking for new ways to help our clients that are trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, that take into account all of their co-occurring conditions, and above all else… are EFFECTIVE.

This event has been created with the theme of “just tell me what to do on Monday” - we are bringing you SCIENCE-BACKED information, FRESH ideas, and NEW evidence, so that you can put together the best possible treatment plans for your beautiful neurodivergent clients.

Why we’re doing this…

Meet your host

She is passionate about guiding the next generation of practitioners to become confident, capable and successful clinicians... without burning out.

Jules’ Session: Beyond Dopamine & Dysfunction - Where are we at with Adult ADHD?

Adult ADHD awareness has exploded in the last few years. But sadly, we’re not always on the same page as a profession as to how to approach cases in clinic. Our naturopathic forums have been a hotbed of discussion (and unfortunately, sometimes misinformation) about Adult ADHD.

Soooo… at this event, we will be setting the record straight!

In this session, Jules will mix the latest neuroscience with 20 years of clinical practice, plus she will bring to the table her lived experience (ADHD combined type here - nice to meet you!). The result? A comprehensive understanding on what ADHD is, and what it isn’t, and how to show up for our clients in a way that affirms, supports and gets the very best out of their brain type.

Think it’s all about Dopamine? Think again. There’s so much more to ADHD - let’s nerd out together!

In this session, Jules will cover:

  • What the latest studies reveal about the ADHD brain.

  • Integrating our naturopathic and nutritional medicines in a way that’s safe and effective, whilst getting amazing results for your clients.

  • Compelling evidence on herbs and supplements, and predictions for where we’re headed.

  • All of this will be delivered using a neuroaffirming lens.

Speaker:

Rhiannon Hardingham

Naturopath BHSc (Nat) | She/Her

Rhiannon is an experienced naturopath, presenter, educator and author, focusing primarily on reproductive and gynaecological health.

Bringing experience from over 20 years in clinical practice, Rhiannon provides professional mentoring and education to clinicians. Her education style is approachable yet thorough, attracting practitioners from all areas of functional medicine, as she assists them to best understand hormone, fertility and pregnancy cases through expertise in nuanced pathology interpretation and herbal, nutritional and lifestyle medicine prescription.

Rhiannon runs the online clinic and education platform, RH: Reproductive Health offering expert multidisciplinary support to patients and clinicians in this highly specialised field.

Rhi’s Session: Unmasked - ADHD, Perimenopause and the Oestrogen-Dopamine Axis

ADHD in women and AFABs is disproportionately identified in midlife. Strategies that sustained function through earlier decades often become unsustainable as oestradiol destabilises and eventual declines, and the resulting escalation in executive difficulty is routinely attributed to perimenopause alone: to mood disorders, or non-specific "brain fog", delaying accurate diagnosis.

In this presentation, Rhiannon will illustrate the unique neuroendocrine drivers behind this pattern, including the relationship between hormones and dopaminergic tone and the key influence of perimenopause changes in COMT-dependent catecholamine and oestrogen modulation.

Understanding this relationship is essential for the nuanced clinical management required at this particular life stage, both for perimenopause and ADHD. Rhiannon will share her key clinical gems related to succesful alignment of both conventional and functional interventions, supporting practitioners to achieve best outcomes for patients.

The session is delivered in neuro-affirming framing, positioning identification as clarification of a lifelong neurotype rather than the onset of pathology.

Learning outcomes

  • Explain oestradiol's modulation of dopaminergic signalling and its relevance to symptom variability across the menstrual cycle and perimenopausal transition.

  • Apply a structured differential to midlife executive dysfunction, including recognition of coexisting presentations.

  • Identify appropriate referral points and define the integrative practitioner's scope alongside MHT and stimulant management.

  • Establish a reliable framework for functional medicine interventions to support patient's symptoms and medication side effects.

Rebecca’s Session: Microbes and the Mind - The interplay between gut function, sleep, stress and neurodivergence

Emerging research continues to highlight the profound connection between the gut and the brain. We will explore how disruptions in the gut microbiome may contribute to neuroinflammation, altered stress responses, sleep disturbances, and gastrointestinal conditions such as IBS, particularly in neurodivergent populations.

Through the lens of the gut-brain axis, we will examine the complex bidirectional communication between the gut microbiota, nervous system, immune system, and endocrine pathways including the HPA axis.

Discussion will explore how microbial imbalances may act as a contributing factor in cognitive, behavioural, and emotional symptoms.

A passionate and inspiring speaker, Rebecca’s presentations are a notorious blend of cutting edge science and upbeat storytelling, distilling complex information into a form that is memorable and easy to understand.

Speaker:

Shai Hipperson

Psychologist BPsySciHons, MPsyClin | She/Her

Shai Hipperson is a proud Ngarigo woman, Principal and Clinical Psychologist at Conscious Mind Centre. She leads the clinic’s trauma-focused mental health care and Australia’s first Indigenous-led and psychology-led Medicine-Assisted Therapy model of care, delivered alongside an Authorised Prescriber psychiatrist.

Shai is a trained psychedelic-assisted therapy practitioner whose work brings together trauma psychology, culturally grounded healing, and deep respect for the role of mind, body, culture, spirit, and relationship in the healing process.

Shai’s Session: Psychedelic Therapies - Applications in trauma and neuroinflammation

As Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy becomes part of Australia’s regulated mental health landscape, many practitioners are asking where it may fit for patients with complex trauma, treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, ADHD, and other neurodivergent presentations.

This presentation will explore the emerging role of Medicine-Assisted Therapy for people with treatment-resistant mental health concerns and co-occurring neurodivergent presentations. Drawing on current research, clinical experience, and de-identified clinical observations, the session will discuss early themes being observed in patients progressing through treatment, including self-awareness, behavioural flexibility, emotional processing, and reported ADHD-related clinical themes.

The session will also offer practical considerations for naturopaths and nutritionists who may be supporting patients before and after treatment, including lifestyle, nutrition, and how to identify when a patient may or may not be suitable for referral into a regulated Medicine-Assisted Therapy pathway.

Attendees will come away with a grounded understanding of the current landscape, the limitations and emerging possibilities of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy, and the future direction of this evolving area of care.

Speaker

Steven Judge

Naturopath BHSc (Nat) | He/Him

Steven Judge is a clinical naturopath, nutritionist and herbalist with over 10 years of experience in private practice, specialising in chronic digestive disorders, mental health and hormonal imbalances.

Having previously worked alongside medical practitioners as a director of a holistic medical centre in Sydney, Steven now runs an online private practice supporting clients across Australia and internationally.

Steven has a particular interest in the complex interplay between the gut, immune system, nervous system and mental health, including the role of histamine and mast cell activation in neuropsychiatric symptoms. While his clinical approach is grounded in science and evidence-based medicine, Steven is deeply fascinated by the energetic, emotional and psychospiritual dimensions of health and disease, and encourages clients to explore how these deeper aspects of their experience may be expressed through the body.

At the heart of his work is a desire to understand the underlying causes of symptoms, while helping clients develop a deeper relationship with—and trust in—the inherent wisdom of their body.

Steven’s Session: Friend or Foe? The impact of histamine on mental health

Histamine is often viewed as something to simply suppress or avoid—but this powerful signalling molecule also plays an essential role as a neurotransmitter, influencing arousal, cognition, sleep, appetite and the stress response. So when does histamine shift from friend to foe?

In this presentation, clinical naturopath Steven Judge explores the emerging relationship between histamine, mast cell dysregulation and neuropsychiatric symptoms, including anxiety, panic, insomnia, mood disturbance and cognitive changes.

Moving beyond the idea of simply “lowering histamine,” Steven will explore why histamine can become dysregulated in the first place—from impaired degradation and gut dysfunction to immune activation, mast cell dysregulation and environmental triggers—and the clinical signs that may indicate histamine is an important piece of the puzzle.

Practitioners will learn how to differentiate histamine intolerance from broader mast cell activation, investigate potential underlying drivers, and develop an individualised approach to restoring healthy histamine regulation. Most importantly, the presentation will provide a practical framework for prioritising treatment when multiple drivers coexist—moving beyond symptom management to address the underlying factors contributing to histamine dysregulation and a client’s symptoms.

Laura is the founder and lead naturopath of The Biome Collective. With extensive training and certification in digestive disorders and microbiome analysis, Laura works 1:1 with clients to help them understand the impact of gut health not only on digestion but on the health of the whole body. She also mentors other practitioners on both a 1:1 basis and through speaking engagements.

In her late 30s she received an autism and ADHD diagnosis. Laura's brain wiring and her subsequent approach to nutting out her clients' cases, sets her apart in her clinical practice, as her clients trust that she really will leave no stone unturned when it comes to their health.

Laura’s Session: Iron, Inflammation and the ADHD Brain on Fire

Iron sits at the centre of ADHD neurobiology, shaping dopamine function, cognitive performance and developmental outcomes. Getting the iron balance right for ADHDers can meaningfully improve overall quality of life.

The ADHD brain is especially vulnerable to disrupted dopamine function when iron is low, and individuals with ADHD are more likely to be iron deficient.

Deepen your understanding of the multifaceted interplay between iron and ADHD.

Learning outcomes:

  • How early life iron levels shape dopamine production and receptor density

  • The consequences of iron deficiency on melatonin and serotonin synthesis

  • The impact that stimulant medications have on brain iron levels

  • How iron deficiency affects cognitive function (concentration, memory and learning skills) and psychomotor development

  • Why too much iron is a recipe for disaster for the ADHD brain

  • How to untangle the iron-inflammation-ADHD triangle

Confidently apply evidence-based, clinically effect interventions to achieve better outcomes for iron deficient ADHD patients.
